Five Governing Board members are elected for staggered, four-year terms. They serve without compensation. The board sets policy for the management of the district, and the superintendent and cabinet are responsible for the execution of these policies. Governing Board Meetings
Board meetings are open to the public. Regular meetings are typically held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7 p.m. in the Governing Board Room at the District Administrative Center, 15002 N. 32nd Street, Phoenix (unless otherwise noted). Study sessions are held as needed for the purpose of studying one or more specific issues in depth. No action is taken during a study session.
The 2021-22 Governing Board meeting schedule is as follows:

- June 2 (meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.)
- June 23 (fourth Thursday of the month and meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.)
