December 2018 letter

Greetings of the season! What a year it has been for PVSchools.

First, I’d like to thank board member Mark Lane, who has chosen to surrender his seat on the Board after eight years of service. Secondly, the Board is excited to welcome Susan Matura, recently elected to the Governing Board, as she starts her four-year term in January. Susan will bring a refreshing perspective, as she has children in elementary school, middle school, and high school. Further, Susan is a United Parent Council veteran, a former PTO president at Grayhawk Elementary School, and a thoughtful, conscious volunteer.

Thirdly, and most importantly, the search for Dr. Lee’s replacement is in progress. A nationwide search was launched by Ray and Associates in late November. Perspective candidate applications are due January 7, 2019. Those applications will be duly reviewed and screened by Ray and Associates. Once the initial review is completed, the governing board will review the materials and hold its first round of interviews. Be patient. This is our most important task by law.

Please know the board’s final candidates will be interviewed by a stakeholder committee prior to our appointment. It’s the PV way! Transparency and collaboration.

Our very best wishes for a safe and wonderful holiday season.

On behalf of the governing board,

Nancy Case, President
