Digital Academy for Advanced Placement Scholars (DAAPS) at Shadow Mountain High School
Students in this program enjoy the full range of extracurricular high school activities while being challenged in a program for gifted students interested in information technology. The DAAPS program features student-centered teaching; study that integrates coursework in core subjects, showing relationships and dichotomies in major fields of study; inquiry and project-based learning; extensive student collaboration.
The course study is flexible, allowing students to choose between a three- or four-year completion track and the opportunity to earn 30 or more college credits.
Application requirements: Gifted identification, or exceed standards on AIMS in two of three areas plus a 3.5 GPA, and a student statement and a teacher recommendation. Students will be expected to be self-directed and self-motivated learners, have a desire to investigate social and educational dimensions of information technology, and be interested in information technology and digital learning processes.

CREST offers exceptional students the opportunity to study in a school-within-a-school at Paradise Valley High School, and to focus their studies on Biotechnology, Engineering or Computer Technology. Students must apply for admission.
