At the April 19, 2018 governing board meeting, governing board members unanimously approved the repurposing of two schools – Aire Libre and Arrowhead elementary schools – consolidating them into neighboring elementary schools. The reasons for the repurposing are many. Aging population, declining enrollment, low birth rates and increased competition, along with under-utilization of facilities in the two sites, mean it is not fiscally prudent to maintain these school sites in their current capacity.

In 2019-20, the boundaries of five schools will be merged into three, with the boundary changes reflected in detailed map below.
